Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't you show me the questions I got wrong after the test is graded?
This was a hot topic while we were putting this program together. In
the end we decided that since it was open book and that you may take the test
as many times as it takes that showing the answers would not encourge one to go
back and try to fully understand the materials.
Why do I have to get recertified every 2 years (4 years for the state(s)
)?
Since this course is constantly updated with new ideas, coaching
techniques and rules we feel that refreshing your knowledge and getting the
most up-to-date information is essential to safe and effective coaching.
I am an experienced coach! Why should I have to get certified?
Since determining who is an experienced coach and who is not is purely
subjective we felt that it was nesseccary and fair to include everyone in the
certification process. We are looking for those who are experienced to set an
example for the less experienced coaches and to help promote safe and effective
pole-vaulting.
I have been coaching for 30 years. Why do I have to coach your pole-vaulting
methods.
You don't! What we have set forth is a time tested way to coach pole-vaulting
for coaches that don't know how to coach or for coaches that might want more
ideas on how to coach more safe and effective concepts. We are not saying that
our concepts are the only safe and effecive way to do thihngs but merely one of
many.
Okay, inderstand that I don't have to coach your way but then why do I need
to learn your concepts?
This certification process merely demonstrates that you have the knowledge of
at least one safe and effective way to coach pole-vaulting. It would be
impossible for us to have a certification process that took everyones
individual views into consideration.
